I wonder if it will fall tomorrow too…

“Genki sou da yo,” said the voice from behind.  “Your work isn’t as good as it used to be, but not too bad for someone who is out of season.”
“You! Get the hell outta my apartment!  You have no right to be here!” Scott said as he turned and stood up from where he was sitting.
“What, you wanna be alone with your pet?  Besides, I’m living here from now on so I can go to school.  You don’t want me to fail out because I don’t have a home do you?” said the man in the door way.  He only had one small bag and a smirk on his face.  The man seemed determined to stay in that apartment whether Scott liked it or not.
“Fucking sleep on the floor, you’re used to that aren’t you?” yelled Scott as he moved to the door and forced the man into the living room.  “See that empty piece of carpet over there, that’s your bed, now go and be quiet.  Tomorrow, you should try to room with Lance or someone who actually likes you, prick!” Scott warned as he returned to his room.
When he got into the room, he shut and locked the door behind him.  James rolled over in the bed.  Scott walked over and sat back next to the bed.
“Hey, you awake?” Scott asked gently.
“Unnnm, yeah, kinda.  Where am I?” questioned James as he sat up wearily.
“You’re in my room.  I found you at the playground…You kinda ran off…I am sorry to hear about your father.  It must have been tough.”
“He died when I was 5.  Really the only memories I have of him are when we went to the mountains the winter before the accident.  I remember we made snow men, and had a snow ball fight, made snow angels…” James remembered with a smile.  “I don’t want to forget my father…whenever I see snow I remember that time.”
“Is your mom still alive?”
“Yeah…she’s alive.  She married another man a few years ago.  We hardly seem like a family.  To be honest, I don’t know much about him.  They never had another child.  I don’t think my mom is able to get pregnant again…”
“And…and when you see rain…you…you think about the accident?”
“Yes, that is why I hate it.  I remember he was driving and there was a stalled car in front of us…and he couldn’t stop in time, so…we…crashed.  …And then after that, the sound of rain drops.  I survived without an injury, but…but my dad…didn’t even make it to the hospital…”
Scott turned his head down.  He couldn’t bear to look at James’ face which had gone from happy to almost unexpressive.
“Hey,” James said as he touched Scott on the shoulder, “are you okay?  I’m sorry; I think I have said too much…”
James looked up and saw that James now looked sad.  “No, it’s not you,” Scott said as he grabbed James and hugged him.  “It is I who should be sorry.  I am the reason your father died.  It’s all my fault…I am the one you hate the most,” Scott sobbed gently into James’ chest.
“It’s not your fault…it’s not like you made it rain, right?” James said to calm Scott down.
Scott looked up from James’ chest.  Scott looked very serious as he took James’ face into his hands.  “Do you trust me?” he asked.
“Yes…” answered James a little confused.
“Then follow me,” Scott said as he grabbed James’ arm and exited the room.  Scott went into the living room and found that his guest was redecorating a little.  He quickly left the room with James in tow.
“Who…who is that?” questioned James as he was being placed in a pair of shoes.
“Just someone who needs to spend the night.  He’ll be gone tomorrow,” James replied as he grabbed his keys and left the apartment dragging James behind him.
“Ummm, where are we going??” asked James as they descended the stairs to go to the street.
“On an adventure,” Scott said smilingly as he pulled James closer.

“From here, you can see most of the city,” said Scott as they mounted the hill.
“Wow, it’s a really nice view,” said James as he looked back down from where they had just came.
“Now, watch this,” said Scott as he walked a little further down the hill.
He put his hand up and pointed it in the direction of the eastern side of town.  James saw a small light illuminate in Scott’s hand as Scott mumbled something under his breath.  Scott then turned towards James and sat down on the ground.
“Here, sit, this will take a minute,” Scott said with a smile.
James sat down beside Scott.
“So…did you change my clothes?” asked James after a few seconds of silence.
“Yes, sorry, but you were soaked so it was best to change them.  They were put in the drier so you can get them before you leave,” Scott replied blushing a little.  “Ahh, look!”
James looked to the area where Scott was pointing.  Where Scott had pointed his hand just a minute or two before, it was now raining.  James could not believe his eyes.  ‘Did Scott make it rain…or is he just good at guessing?’ questioned James to himself.
“I made it rain.  It is probably hard to believe, but I did.  I am the God of Rain.  I am the one that you hate.  I am the reason that your dad died,” Scott said as he looked down at the grass.  “Please don’t hate me for that.  I didn’t know…  I think I love you…”
A few minutes passed by; James didn’t say anything and Scott couldn’t look up.  He was too afraid to see James’ face.
Did James hate him now?  Could he ever make it up to him?  Could he ever make it rain again without feeling pain?  Scott kept asking these questions to himself until he heard a small sob.  He looked up and saw that James was crying.
“What’s wrong?” Scott asked as he grabbed James’ arms.  “I am sorry…it’s me isn’t it?  I should go now…”
“No!  It’s…I…I have spent years hating the rain…and…and now I see that it wasn’t the rain…the rain isn’t bad at all…not when it comes from someone like Scott.”
“So, the rain is forgiven?” Scott asked as he kissed James gently on the lips.

“Oss,” the man said as he walked over to the table where Mitch, Quince, and Lance were sitting.  He plopped down next to Mitch and picked up Mitch’s drink.
“Hey, that’s mine Akito.  Probably too strong for someone like you,” Mitch said as he grabbed the drink from out of the Akito’s hand.
“Aww, just a sip?” Akito said as he looked at Mitch with a pitiful face.  “Scott was already mean to me so you don’t have to be so mean.”
“You actually went to see Scott??  But he hates you the most!” Quince said as he picked up his drink (mostly to protect it from Akito).
“So what if he hates me. I am living with him while I am in this stupid city.  He just has to get used to it.  And besides, shouldn’t you be in bed or something, brat?”
“Hey, I have more right to be here than you!  After all, I live in the stupid city!”
“Why don’t you move in with me or Mitch, Akito?” asked Lance as he gave Quince his drink.  “I have more space than Scott anyway.  And I would love some company.”
“Naw, that’s alright.  I want to live with Scott.  It’s more fun this way.  He has a new pet that I want to look at,” replied Akito as he stood up.  “Well, I should be heading out.  See if I can make it snow in the mountains.  They look so bear with all that rain.”
“Jerk,” Quince said as soon as Akito had left.  He sucked on the straw to Lance’s drink until all the drink was gone.  “Why does he always do that to everyone?”
“Because some of us get angry to easily now don’t we?” answered Lance as he patted Quince on the head.
“Hey, if you want company, why don’t you cook for me?  Then I will most definitely come over!” suggested Quince excitedly.
“Idiot,” Mitch said with a smile, “he only said that to try to get Akito to leave Scott’s place.  I think it may have worked if he had told Akito that he lives in a shoebox and hated his guts.”
PG-13 for language.
Picture drawn in 2004/5...around there...

Scott's secret is out. And Yukito has arrived...for better or worse.
...Akito is Yukito in this story. I honestly don't know my own character's names...
